Mark Cresse, Owner and Founder

Mark ended his 22 year reign as coach for the Los Angeles Dodgers in 1998. The Dodgers captured 5 National League pennants and 2 World Series titles in his long and distinquished career. The Mark Cresse School of Baseball difference is Mark Cresse. This unique individual takes great pride in the personal care and attention given to every ballplayer's well-being. Obsessed with detail, perfection, and an uncompromised work ethic, Mark founded the camp with the philosophy, "If the camp is going to have my name on it, it better stand for everything I believe in." The Cresse "Mark of Approval" encompasses the entire business from coaching staff and facilities, to equipment, and vehicle safety. A visit to any of our 6 facilities and you will immediately understand the "Cresse difference".
Jeff Courvoisier, Executive Director
A former All-Conference infielder at Azusa Pacific University, this will be Jeff's 16th year at the Mark Cresse School of Baseball. Currently a part-time elementary teacher with a master's Degree in Education, this is Jeff's fifth year as Executive Director. The previous seven years, Jeff had been a full-time assistant to Jeff Pressman, helping to build and improve the Mark Cresse School of Baseball.
 

Jeff Sears, South County Director
Jeff enters his 16th year as South County Director and 20th with Mark Cresse School of Baseball. After being an assistant coach for Division III national power Chapman University for 3 years, Jeff is in his first year as head varsity baseball coach at Laguna Beach High School. Jeff has previously coached at his alma mater, Cal State Dominguez Hills, and University High School.

 
Mike Gerakos, Irvine Co-Director
Mike begins his 11th year as Irvine Director after the unification of "5 Tools and More" Baseball Camp with the Mark Cresse School of Baseball. One of the country's most respected baseball coaches, Gerakos was the head coach at UC Irvine for 12 years. A former player and assistant coach at UCLA, Mike is currently teaching and coaching varsity baseball at University High School in Irvine.
 
Duane Page , Irvine Co-Director
Duane joined the Mark Cresse School of Baseball staff in 1997. A former minor league pitcher, Duane has 10 years coaching experience on the high school and collegiate levels, most recently as pitching coach for Division I Cal State Northridge. He is also a respected private hitting and pitching coach.
 
Rick Ibarra, Huntington Beach Director
Rick begins his ninth year as Huntington Beach camp site director. He is currently the pitching coach at LA Harbor Community College. This will be Rick's 13th year with the Mark Cresse School of Baseball. He coached for L.A. City runner-up Narbonne High in 1996. His 2002 squad was CIF Southern Section runner-up and Rick was named "Coach of the Year" by the LA Times.
 
Lou McCollum, Resident Camp Director
After a college career as a Long Beach State 49er, Lou went on to play 2 years of minor league baseball. Upon completion of his playing career,he went on to coach 13 years of high school baseball before moving up to the collegiate level. Lou is in his eighth year on the college level and is currently coaching at College of The Desert. Lou's desire to see young men develop as both ballplayers and human beings and his attention to detail are qualities that help campers and parents feel comfortable in the resident camp setting.
 
Mark Rigney, North County Director
Mark was the varsity baseball coach at Azusa High School where his 1983 squad captured the CIF Championship. Mark was previously head coach at Citrus Community College and an assistant coach at the University of La Verne. He is currently a special education teacher in Azusa. He begins his 16th year at our North County camp site.
 
Paul Coppes, Chino Hills Director
Paul is a special education teacher in the Capistrano Valley School District. A former walk-on at Azusa Pacific University, Paul became a two-time NAIA All American. He was forrmerly assistant coach at his alma mater. A former coach for two season in the Cape Cod League, Paul begins his 10th year with the Mark Cresse School of Baseball and his seventh year as Chino Hills Director.
 
Eric Shibley, Senior Camp Co-Director
Eric Shibley took over as co-director of our Senior Camp at Vanguard University in Costa Mesa in 2006. Shibley has coached at the Mark Cresse School of Baseball since 1995 and has been an integral part of our Senior Camp for the past six years. A Former All-Conference outfielder at Cal State Dominquez Hills, Shibley currently teaches and is the assistant baseball coach at Diamond Bar High School. Shibley previously coached at Cal State Dominquez Hills and Glendale High School.
 
Mark Gabbard, Senior Camp Co-Director
Mark has been a member of the Cresse coaching staff since 2001. Currently he is the Athletic Director and head baseball coach at Western Christian High School in Covina. In 2001 he led his team to the CIF Quarterfinals. Mark spent time as the hitting coach at Pasadena City College after finishing his collegiate career as an All-Conference performer at Lane College in Oregon. This is Mark's third year as Senior Camp Co-Director.
 
Marci Teah, Director of Marketing
In 2004, Marci joined the Cresse family as Director of Marketing. In addition to promoting the camp, Marci helps run the day to day operations of camp. Marci and her husband have two Cresse ballplayers and she understands the needs of today’s families. She adds a special personal touch to help make the Mark Cresse School of Baseball one of the finest training programs anywhere in the country.
